Our round up of the latest trends as seen on the London, Barcelona and New York bridal catwalks.
IN FULL BLOOM
Fabulous 3D floral and botanical appliques gave added interest and depth to bridal wear on the catwalks – team up with some additional textured fabric accessories to ensure the bloom doesn’t fade as your Big Day progresses.
TIERS IN HEAVEN
Echoing the distinctly Hispanic feel of the recent Milan fashion catwalks, diaphanous tiers providing swishy movement were everywhere the bridal catwalks also. Balance the volume of this look with large chandelier earrings and statement headpieces (birdcages look great with this style).
TAILORED SOLUTIONS
Reflecting the trends in same sex marriage and civil ceremonies, designers are offering classic alternatives to ‘the dress’. Keep accessories simple and understated to work with the linear cut of these beautifully tailored suits.
DECO DELIGHTS
Art Deco designs continue to influence bridal fashion – notably the geometric Deco wave pattern which appeared in various forms and interpretations on the catwalks. Delicate, dainty accessories tend to be overwhelmed by this style – real Deco Darlings should go for confident, bold, stand out pieces that reflect their inner 1920s goddess!
BACK ON TRACK
No longer enough to look good from the front, many designers have now placed a greater emphasis on how brides look from behind – thanks to a multitude of transparent lace appliques, draping necklines and backless numbers. A delicate backdrop necklace adds the perfect final touch to this sensuous bridal look.
FEATHERED FANCIES
Frou frou feathers added drama to many designer gowns – think languid trails of floating peacock feathers – the must have embellishment of the moment. Continue the theme with one of our many feathered hair accessories to add a little drama.
FORWARD THINKING
Slashed-to-the-navel necklines give plenty of room for long 30s styles pendants or lariat necklaces. More daring brides could just simply use the decollete as the canvas for a sparkling show stopper (Old Hollywood styles are great for added pizzazz!)
GOLDEN GIRLS
Hints of blush and antique gold continue to add a warm glow to new designs. Check out our new range of rose gold accessories (here) along with classic yellow gold sparklies.
HELLO TO HOLLYWOOD
A perennial favourite, the Old Hollywood 1950s screen siren look, makes its appearance once again with stunning column dresses with tulle overlays. Match with classic, vintage inspired pieces, many featuring marquis stones and timeless pearls.
Hope that provides plenty of inspiration for your 2016 wedding!
