Downton Abbey fashion influences bridal accessory choices

Thanks to the rip-roaring success of the British costume drama, Downton Abbey, Edwardian and Art Deco accessories are truly in vogue again for brides-to-be in 2012!

Bridal choker necklaces are back in demand as a regal touch is added to wedding day looks

Teamed with delicate pearl earrings for that touch of sensuality……….

Accessories such as wraps, gloves and dainty handbags are a much a nod towards the modesty of turn of the Century fashions as they are practical nice-to-haves for a winter wedding…………..

Delicate pearl necklaces as well as the ubiquitous ‘flapper style’ long pearl strands have always been popular choices for wedding jewellery but have enjoyed a resurgence with the general Art Deco wedding trends.

Finally, what better way to complete your look than by adding a fabulous vintage or antique brooch?

Vintage Hat Trick! Kate rocks Deco styling

Our third UK celeb vintage bride in as many months – retro inspired bridal wear is definitely having its moment! It was no suprise to us that Kate Moss chose a vintage look (we had a 50/50 odds on whether it would be Deco or Boho inflenced).

Kate’s fabulous John Galliano dress and veil echoed flowing, understated 1920s style with a boho chic informality. Kate is ahead of the bridal fash-pack (no surprise there!) with her subtle hints of gold reflecting the bolder hues apparent on the recent 2012 Barcelona catwalks (by Rosa Clara).

Gold accessories are making a comeback as the perfect accent to creamy ivory tones of vintage lace and tulle.  Browse some of our fab gilt accessories for your Big Day.

Fab choice also for late summer and Autumn brides who wish to capture those fading rays of summer – gold with topaz reflects the season beautifully. See our complete collection at http://www.vintagebridalaccessories.co.uk
